Melatonex approaches music as a way of translating feeling from one form into another. A scene from a film, a difficult period, a piece of writing or an atmosphere can become the starting point for something entirely musical.
Writing has been part of her life for as long as she can remember, beginning with poetry and lyrics before gradually turning into songs. That instinct for storytelling still shapes the way she creates, often borrowing the emotional weight of cinema and rebuilding it through sound.
Her process usually begins with harmony. A simple synth and a set of chords establish the emotional direction before details begin to gather around them, allowing relatively few elements to carry a surprising amount of feeling.
